Obituary

NATICK: Elvira M. (Rico) Monson, age 77, a devoted mother, nana, sister and friend, passed away on Friday afternoon, June 10, 2016, at Blair House of Milford. She was the beloved wife of the late Victor H. Monson.

Born, raised, and educated in Hyde Park, she was a daughter of the late Arcoline and Mary (Cafeteria) Rico. She and Victor married and settled in South Natick where Elvira created a warm and loving home for her growing family.

Elvira was employed with GAB of Waltham. After retirement, she kept busy with part time employment, first with Staples and later with CVS. She moved to Sherwood Village where she enjoyed her neighbors and working crossword puzzles.

Elvira is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Dedafoe and husband Kenneth of Suffolk, VA, Deborah Salmon and husband Jerry of Northbridge, and Katherine Monson of Milford; four grandchildren, Christopher “CJ” and Brittany Dedafoe, and Jerry and Matthew Salmon; great-grandson Mathew Dedafoe; sister, Dorothy Fontes of Allston; nephew Francis; and two nieces, Tracey and Kelly.

Her funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Wednesday, June 15th at 9:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, South Natick.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elvira’s memory to the Milford Humane Society, 289 West Street, Milford, MA 01757.
