Marie “Violet” Picozzi (Smigliani) age 90 of Stoughton passed away June 10th at the Ellis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. Born in Italy, Violet came to the United States with her family at the age of four. She was raised in Hyde Park and attended Boston Public Schools. Mrs. Picozzi was a former member of the Canton Son’s of Italy. Beloved wife of the late Edward C. Sr. Devoted mother of Edward C. Picozzi Jr. & his significant other Collette of RI, Gregory Picozzi & his wife Mary Ann of Canton, Regina Hayman of Canton, and Maria Morrison & her husband Chuck of Raynham. Loving sister of Florence Evans of RI, and the late Peter, Thomas, Paul & Charlie Smigliani and Rose Maddestra. Also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 4-8 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton, Monday morning at 10:00. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
