Joseph N. Poveromo, age 70, formally of Barrington, RI died peacefully on Sunday May 29, 2016. Born in Hartford, CT. Joseph was the son of Joseph and Jean (Pucci) Poveromo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dorothy (Del Selva) Poveromo and his sister Madelyn Downey. He leaves behind two children, his daughter Amy Voccio and her husband Joseph Voccio of Richmond, RI and his son Nicholas Poveromo of Attleboro, MA. He was the loving Papa of his two grandchildren, Madeleine and J. Chase Voccio.
He resided in Barrington, RI and Arcadia, FL.
Joe was as a national computer support specialist. He worked with computer hardware for over 40 years. The majority of his career was with the Amdahl Corp. and DecisionOne. He was as a self-employed computer consultant before retiring in 2007.
Joe enjoyed traveling in his RV. He especially enjoyed the family camping roadtrips throughout the U.S. And more recently, his snowbird winters in Florida and summer weeks at the Charlestown Breachway. Joe made friends wherever he was. Joe had a passion for technology, computers and all things electronic. He was eager to help anyone who was technically challenged.
He will be remembered for his wit and sense of humor. He was most happy when he was with his family, friends and dog, Lola.
