Dorothy Mae Dalton (Teague) Miller
July 14, 1922- June 3, 2016
Dorothy Mae Dalton (Teague) Miller, 93, of Anderson, died June 3, 2016 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
Born July 14, 1922 in Nortonville, KY, the daughter of the late Lurman and Eunice (Denton) Teague. She married Leburn Miller of Muhlenberg, KY in 1940 and moved to Anderson shortly after. They raised five children and helped nurture several foster children. As a member of South Meridian church of God for more than 70 years, she held many positions of service. She worked at the publishing company, The Gospel Trumpet, and later worked and retired from the Church of God Extension in 1985 after 18 years as office manager. Miss D, as she was fondly called by her husband's brothers, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, computer games, reading, family, friends and church activities. She sewed, did all kinds of needlework and quilted many items for friends and family, passing these skills on to her daughters and granddaughters. Because she had a tender heart for children all her life, she spent much of her money in later years helping children.
Surviving are two daughters; Anita (Terry) Strout of Simpsonville, SC and Maretta (David) Hall of Milton, FL, and three sons: Perry (Betty) Miller of Alexandria, Rodney (Carol) Miller of Anderson, and Royce (Stephanie) Miller of Columbia, SC; twelve grandchildren: Stephen (Alaina) Miller, Melissa (Robert) Kania, Cary (Chris) Miller, Brian Strout, Alison (Casey) Shingary, Tony Hall, Carli Ebanks, Seth Miller, Holli Miller, Lynzi (Grant) Scharton, Isaac (Ashley) Miller, Leah (Patrick) German; eleven great-grandchildren: Chance and Trey Miller, Mackenzi & Macie Kania, Daniel & Ashley Miller, Sienna & Carter Shingary, Jordan and Jarrett Ebanks, Conrad Scharton; one great-great-grandson, Cylus Whittaker; and one sister, Etoile Wise.
Preceding her in death were her husband and two brothers, Marvin and Edward Teague.
