Arthur W. Colella, of Woburn, 78, passed away at the Wingate Nursing Home of Reading, Thursday morning July 13, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Boston he was the son of the late Philomena (Reppucci) and Nunzio Colella. He attended Boston Schools and Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Art worked for over forty years in the Mattress building industry first for Englander Mattress Company of Medford and later Therapedic Mattress of Dracut. He enjoyed bowling and being with his friends and family.
After his retirement he worked as a crossing guard for the City of Woburn his post was at the Clapp School on Arlington Rd. he was affectionately known as uncle “Art” by his friends and family.
He was predeceased in death by his three sisters, Margaret Dello Russo, Elvira Marotta and Angie Cataldo. His niece Lena Federico, two nephews Edward and Robert Dello Russo.
He is survived by two nieces Gloria Terramagra of Medford and Dottie Arginio of Stoneham and many loving great nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Saturday, July 16, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn at 9. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden
