Douglas A. Pepin, 43, of Tampa, Florida formerly of Woonsocket passed away suddenly May 20, 2016 at home in Tampa, FL.
Born and raised in Woonsocket he was the loving son of Rene and Lucille “Pat” (Patneaude) Pepin of Woonsocket. He grew up in St. Agatha parish and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from St. Leo University in Florida.
After college Doug made his home in Florida and was employed as an assistant manager for Aramark Corp working in Lakeland and later at the Tampa Convention Center. Doug was currently employed as a senior director for One Touch Direct LLC in Tampa.
Doug was a caring outgoing young man who easily made life-long friends. He still kept in touch with friends from his youth and all Doug’s friends from the frigid New England climate could always count on a warm welcome to Doug’s abode in the Sunshine state.
Doug enjoyed golf and played goalie for The Bolts hockey team in Tampa. He was a staunch New England Patriots fan and true to his French Canadian heritage particularly that of his Quebec-born grandfather, he rooted for the Montreal Canadiens.
Doug’s lasting legacy is the love, laughter and friendship he shared with all those who were blessed to have known him.
In addition to his parents Doug is survived by his brother Rene Pepin and his wife, Hollie, of Woodstock, GA, and Edward “Ted” Pepin and his wife, Kathleen, of Phoenix, AZ. He as the favorite uncle of his beloved nieces Tayla, Alexis and Zoe and his “main man” his nephew Maxwell. Doug is also survived by his extended family and numerous friends.
His funeral will be Saturday at 8:45 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am in St. Agatha Church, Fairfield Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
