McKissock, Ann Gordon passed away May 10, 2016 from natural causes after celebrating her 90th birthday on May 4. Ann was born in Boston and raised in Wellesley Hills, MA and summered with her family at their home in Hyannisport MA. She attended The Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA and went to Pembroke College for a year before she married her first husband John “Jack” Gordon and raised their children Pamela and John Jr. in Westwood MA.
Ann worked for The Westwood Schools as a tennis and ski coach while actively working on her golf game and enjoying skiing and sailing with her family. Ann lost her first husband in 1968 and married Gordon H. McKissock in 1970. She was a devoted mother to Pamela, John Jr. and Gordon’s sons Mark and William. Ann became an active participant. Women’s’ Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM) and the United States Senior Women’s Golf Association. Ann was also an active member of the Dedham Country and Polo Club and a past two-time women's club champion. As a life- long resident of Westwood, Ann volunteered at The Westwood Senior Center, Glad Rags donation center, and The First Parish Church. In the 80’s, Ann took courses at Curry College and completed requirements to earn her B.A. from Brown University. Over the last sixteen years, Ann was assisted by several wonderful care-givers after suffering a stroke. Liz Bayer of North Attleboro and Kathy McGillivray of Westwood in particular became close friends with Ann to keep her active and engaged with her friends.
Ann leaves a daughter, Pamela Gordon Brennan, Wilmington NC, stepsons Mark H. McKissock, Dedham MA and William A. McKissock, Norwalk CT, grandsons David W. McKissock, Duxbury MA and Graham H. McKissock, Jamaica Plain MA, granddaughters Emily M. McKissock, Santa Cruz CA and Margaret M. Randall, Phippsburg ME, and great-grand daughters Sage E. McKissock and Marley G. McKissock, Duxbury MA. Services are private. Donations may be made to The American Caregiver Association in Ann’s memory.
