Obituary

WORCESTER___Helen V. Dymek, 87, of Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living and formerly of 21 Dillon St, died Tuesday July 12 in the nursing center. Her husband of 49 years, Chester J. Dymek died in 1989.

She was the loving and beloved mother of Chester J. Dymek and his wife Pamela of Colorado Springs, Co; Helena P. Liazos and her husband Christos of Worcester and Elaine F. Kallio of Pawtucket, R.I. She also leaves four grandsons, Andrew Liazos, Theodore Liazos, David Dymek and Donald Kallio, Jr, two granddaughters, Laura Kallio Joyce and Erica Kallio and four great-grandchildren, Christopher Liazos, Rachel Liazos, Stephen Liazos and Hannah Joyce. She was born in Worcester and lived here all her life. Her mother was the late Mariana Sopczak.

Mrs. Dymek was a cashier 16 years for the Webster House Restaurant and retired in 1998. Before then she was a final inspector for H. H. Brown Shoe Co. and retired in 1982 after working there 25 years. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, class of 1937.

Helen was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and its Women’s Guild, the PNA Club, AARP Bancroft Chapter and was a member and past president of the Polish Political and Social Club.

The funeral will be held on Thursday July 14 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday July 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St., Worcester, 01610 or to Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehab Center, 300 Barber Ave, Worcester, 01606.
