Norman J. Strobel
Norman J. Strobel, 73, passed away Friday afternoon, May 20, 2016 in Yulee, FL.
He was the son of Norman Strobel Sr. and Agnes Shepard. He had one brother, Brian Strobel who predeceased him. Norman was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Hornell, NY at the age of 5. He lived there for most of his life.
Norman leaves behind his wife Judy, his daughter, Wendy Strobel Gower (David) of Cortland, NY; his son Michael Strobel (Christy) of Elmira NY; and his son Thomas Strobel (Diana) of Houston, TX. He had six grandchildren: Ryan, Anna Lisa, Bella, Dylan, Lauren, and Christian.
Norman attended Alfred University and earned a degree in ceramic engineering. He was owner and president of Strobel’s Welding in Hornell, NY.
Norm enjoyed playing the guitar, cars of every kind and traveling with his family. He also had much joy going with the kids to sporting events starting with little league and all through their lives. He enjoyed family vacations. Norm was a great father who looked after his family all his life.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Crandall officiating.
Norm had a great life for which we are all thankful to God. We are sure he will be in heaven waiting for us to arrive.
