Laconia-----Alan Lee Perry, 68, passed away May 16, 2016 at Lakes Region General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Alan was born December 10, 1947 in Laconia to Albert and Louise (Nedeau) Perry. He attended Laconia schools and graduated from Laconia High School in 1965. Alan married his true love Nelida “Candi” Lopez on September 21, 1968. He held a career in sales, employed by Coca-Cola Vending for 20 years and Schwan’s Food Enterprises for 17 years, retiring in 2009.
Alan was a sports enthusiast, with an absorbed interest for baseball both as a player and a Coach. He was an excellent Pitcher. On March 11th, 1967 he was invited to Casa Grande, Arizona where he tried out for the San Francisco Giants. Anyone who knew “Al” may recall his unique sense of humor and remember times when his jokes or long stories would send you into hearty laughter. His favorite actor was Clint Eastwood, and his favorite musical artist were the Rolling Stones.
Alan is predeceased by his father Albert Perry in 2009 and his brother Raymond Perry in 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nelida “Candi” Perry, his son Aaron Perry of Laconia, daughter Kaylieana Lopez-Perry of Laconia, grandson Caden Perry of Laconia, and step-grandchildren Jessica Lachance and Kristen Lachance, both of Laconia, and Sean Lachance of Florida. Other surviving family members are his mother Louise Perry, and his three sisters – Laura Lanigan, Mary Alexander and Rhonda Perry, all of Laconia, many nieces and nephews. Also, he will be missed by his little companion and friend, Andre the family Pekingese, whom provided great love and therapy.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St, Laconia NH, using Carriage House entrance.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday May 24th at 1:00pm at Union Cemetery, 176 Academy Street, Laconia NH.
