Obituary

WESTON: Charles E. “Chuck” MacLeod, Jr., 67, died on Friday, May 13, 2016 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Waltham on April 29, 1949 the son of the late Charles E. MacLeod, Sr. and Gertrude A. (Ford) MacLeod.
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Katherine A. “Kathie” (Docrat) MacLeod of Weston. Beloved father of Deirdra Anne MacLeod-Richardson and her husband Kris Richardson of Framingham and Heather Patricia Mendonca and her husband Ramiro Mendonca of Framingham. Cherished grandfather of Emmett Leo Richardson. Loving brother of Irene MacLeod Toomey and her husband Ronald J. Toomey of Amherst, NH. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and his adored dogs Ember and Patsy and his grand dogs.
Chuck has been a longtime resident of Weston and graduated from Weston High School with the Class of 1968. He also resided in Natick for 13 years before moving to Weston. He retired in 2008 after 39 dedicated years to the Town of Weston on the Weston Fire Department as a firefighter. He also served his country with the United States Army National Guard.
Chuck loved to spend time with his family, especially with is grandson Emmett, as well as his “grand dogs”. His family was the most important aspect of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid reader. He loved classic cars and watching NASCAR racing. Chuck also took great pride in his meticulous vegetable garden at his home and spent countless hours on his lawns and landscaping at his Weston residence. Chuck also had treasured memories of the spent with his family and friends in Pittsburg, New Hampshire. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
His funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the MacLeod family lot in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Chuck’s memory may be sent to the Development office, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
