Vitamaria (Pastore) Magaletta died peacefully in the company of her loving family at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center on Thursday evening at the age of 88. Born and raised in Anzano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Francesca (Mastrangelo) Pastore. She came with her family to the United States in 1955, settling in Medford. She worked many years as a stitcher and was with Universal Laundry before her retirement. Vitamaria was devoted to her family and friends and was active with the Madonna Di Anzano Society of the North End.
The beloved wife of the late Vito Magaletta, who died in 2002, she was a devoted mother to Savino and his wife Debra of Onset and Carmine and his wife Patricia of Stoneham. She was a loving grandmother to Victor, Joseph, Annmarie and Gordon. The dear sister of Michelina LoRusso of Somerville, Carmella Giso of Medford, Rose Mastrangelo of Somerville and the late Giuseppe Pastore she leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, May 17 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
