Donald J. Royer, 70, of Sandown, NH, died Saturday, July 9, 2005 at his home. Mr. Royer was born in Haverhill, MA on April 18, 1935, a son of the late Philibert Moses and Marie (Caron) Royer. He was a resident of Sandown for 10 years. After serving briefly in the US Navy, Mr. Royer worked many odd jobs. He worked for Industrial Shoe Machinery in Haverhill, MA for 15 years. He also had worked for Process Engineering as a pipe fitter in Plastow, NH for 15 years. He loved dancing, taking his kids fishing and working on cars when he was younger. He also enjoyed his trips to Foxwoods, was an avid Red Sox fan, practiced Judo, loved spending time with his grandson and enjoyed going to Bannon's Spa with Whitey.
He is survived by three children, Erica Guinesso and her husband James of Auburn, NH, Don Royer of Providence, RI, and Cherie Royer of Alton, NH, a grandson, Daniel Guinesso of Auburn, three brothers, Arthur Royer of Salem, NH, Richard Royer of Gloucester, MA, Fred Royer of Salisbury, MA, a sister, Phyllis Royer of Newport, OR, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Merrill) Royer in 1997 and his brother Walter "Norman" Royer.
Following cremation graveside services were held on Friday, July 15th at 11:00am in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. The Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry handled the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
