Obituary

Florence P. (Guglietta) Carucci, 87, of Medway passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Tufts Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Leonard R. Carucci.

Born on January 26, 1929 in Bloomfield, CT, where she grew up, she was the daughter of the late John and Filomena (Maulucci) Guglietta.

Prior to moving to Medway in 1959 with her husband, Florence was a resident of Hartford, CT. Mrs. Carucci was a graduate of Hillyer College in West Hartford, Connecticut.

For many years Florence worked as Director of Adult Education for the town of Medway and as Secretary in the Guidance Office at Medway High School, before finishing her career as Secretary to the Superintendent of Holliston Public Schools.

Florence volunteered as a docent at the Danforth Museum in Framingham and was an election day worker in the town of Medway. She organized trips for the Medway Senior Center and was a member of Medway Friends of Elders, Top of the Hill Gang, Medway Newcomers Club, Medway Good Government Association, and Medway Women’s Club. She was a very active member of Catholic Daughters, Court of St. Joseph at St. Joseph Parish in Medway.

She is survived by her sister Lorraine Eyl of Berthoud, CO, and her children Linda Carucci and her husband Allen Rehmke of Oakland, CA, Lisa Carucci and her husband Gerald Daniels of Poway, CA, and Paul Carucci of Marlborough, MA.

She was the sister of the late John and Francis Guglietta and Virginia Northup.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 13 from 9:00-10:30 AM in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St., Medway. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to Medway Friends of Elders.
