Esther M. “Etta” (Curley) Cawley, age 78, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at her home in Dorchester following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Cawley.
Born and educated in Boston, Mrs Cawley was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Dorchester. She was an active parishioner of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Dorchester and a member of the 60+ Club.
Mrs Cawley is survived by her children, Joseph P. Cawley, Jr., and his wife Guilda of Moncton, New Brunswick, Kevin M. Cawley and his wife Karen of Stoughton, Teri M. Schuster and her husband Steve of Blacksburg, VA, Michael F. Cawley of Doylestown, PA, Mary V. Cawley of Dorchester, Patrick D. Cawley of Dubai, Qatar, Rita A. Morris of Milton and Stephen C. Cawley, BPD Area C – 11, of Weymouth. She was the mother in law of the late Bob Morris. She was the sister of Josephine Curley of Dorchester, John Curley of Scituate and the late Rose, Joseph, and Anna Curley, Helen Daly, Mary Hogan and Peggy Strumski. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, 2005 at St. Mark’s Church, 1725 Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester at 10 A.M. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Boston.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday 3 – 8 P.M. in the O’Donnell & Mulry Funeral Home, 138 Neponset Ave., Dorchester, MA 02122. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Mark’s Parish, 20 Roseland St., Dorchester, MA 02124.
