Mary J. Morrison-Gibbons, passed away peacefully in her loving family’s company on Monday, May 1, 2016. Born in Boston, she had lived in Quincy for over 50 years. A graduate of Girls High School, Boston, she retired after a 31 year employment at New Eng. Tel. & Tel. She was a late member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Ting-a-Ling Club and the Emblem Club of the Quincy Lodge of Elks. The beloved wife of the late William J. Morrison & the late Patrick V. Gibbons, she was the devoted mother of Patricia A. Bowers & her husband Glenn, Robert F. Morrison & his wife Angela and William A. Morrison & his wife Margaret, all of So. Weymouth, in addition; Joseph Gibbons & his wife Maureen, Maura O’Connor, Susan Gropp & her husband Louis, all of Quincy, Thomas Gibbons & his wife Althea of SC, Joanne Maloney of Braintree & her late husband Kevin and the late Michael Gibbons, the dear sister of Geraldine Shepherd & her husband Thomas of Quincy and the late Patricia Forfia and cherished grandmother of 21 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 95 Crescent St., West Quincy at Friday at 10:30 am. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Thursday 4 to 8 PM. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the Monastery of St. Clare, 920 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
