CHARLTON CITY - George J. Carpenter, 64, of Power Station Road died Sunday, May 19 at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 33 years Nancy (Labelle) Carpenter of Charlton; one son George J. Carpenter Jr. of Southbridge; three daughters Gail M. Mandel of Charlton, Cecelia A. Carpenter and Nancy A. Carpenter both of Charlton; three brothers Charles Carpenter of Charlton, Phil Carpenter and Frank Carpenter both of Worcester; three sisters Helen Dupuis, Laurenda Mason, Rose Landroche all of Worcester; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Leo Carpenter; four sisters Mary Brewster; Lorraine Dupuis; Victoria Perry; and Blanche Barney. He was born in Worcester son of Joseph G. and Irene (Blais) Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter worked as a machine operator at Felter's Company for 25 years retiring in 1990. He also worked at Reed Plastics for 19 years.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 21 with a mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Worcester Road, Charlton. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
