Obituary

Normand C. "Buss" Collette,88, of 5 Casey St., died Monday, July 4
at UMASS Memorial Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Pamela L. (Girouard) Collette, a son Robert
J. and his wife Diane Collette of Windsor, Ct., two grandsons Capt. Randall
J. Collette with the U.S. Army, Scofield Barracks, HI., and Ross J. Collette
of Windsor, Ct., nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Henry,
Raymond and Ronald Collette.
Mr. Collette was an insurance salesman for Prudential Insurance Co. for 22
years, before retiring in 1980. Previously he was a milk delivery man for
the former Sibley Farms of Spencer and H.P. Hood & Sons in Worcester. He
served in the U.S. Air Force during WW II with the "Flying Tigers" for 2
years in China and India.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church and its Sacred Heart League, the
American Legion Post 138 in Spencer, VFW Post 500 in N.Brookfield, the
Flying Tigers 14th Air Force, 23 Fighter group Association and the China
Burma India Association. He was a Little League Coach in Spencer for 4
years. He enjoyed travel and many reunions with the Flying Tigers, bowling,
gardening and playing cards.Born in Marlborough, he was the son of Ulric and
Dora (Lavallee) Collette.
The funeral will be held Friday, July 8 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL
HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church,
60 Maple St., Spencer. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Mary,
Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Thursday, July 7
from 6 to 8p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary, Queen
of the Rosary Memorial Fund, 60 Maple St., Spencer, 01562 or Missionaries of
Charity, 335 E. 145th. St., Bronx, N.Y., 10451.
