Francis T. Langford, 78, of New Bedford died July 2, 2005 at home after a long illness surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Patricia (Morris) Cook Langford.
Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Parr) Langford, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Langford formerly attended St. Mary's Church in New Bedford.
He was formerly employed by Acushnet Company as a Master Scheduler and Aerovox Corp. for 12 years until his retirement.
Mr. Langford served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of Pvt. A. Poirier Post 3265 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Whaling City Golf Course, where he hit a hole-in-one on hole #8.
He enjoyed music and had a wonderful sense of humor which he kept until the end.
Survivors include his wife, 2 daughters, Kathleen E. Langford, and her husband Fred Gomes, of Mattapoisett and Karen A. Chace, and her husband Raymond Chace, Jr., of Freetown; a stepson, Robert R. Cook, Jr. of New Bedford; a grandson, Christopher Chace; a step-granddaughter, Lisa Richmond; a step-great-granddaughter, Maggie Leigh.
He was the brother of the late Jessie Tetrault.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday, July 6th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday, July 5th from 4-7 PM.
Interment private.
