Barbara Ann Markham, 76, of Ty Ty passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, in Ty Ty. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016, at Ty Ty First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Mrs. Markham will be laid to rest at Ty Ty First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 3, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Markham will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Warren Nelms, Dustin Nelms, Robert Clem, Brent Chambless, Wesley Chambless and Matt Luke will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Ty Ty First Baptist Church.
Born June 11, 1939 in Cook County, Mrs. Markham was the daughter of the late G. P. Luke and Minnie Ola Dillard Luke. She was also preceded in death by her second mother, Mary Lawson Luke. She was a homemaker and member of Ty Ty First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday school class.
Mrs. Markham is survived by her husband, Charles Ray Markham of Ty Ty; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl M. and Randy Chambless of Ty Ty and Rebecca and Danny Nelms of Sumner; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin and Sherrell Luke of Cecil, Sonny and Susie Luke, Richard and Paula Luke and Randy and Mandy Luke, all of Tifton; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Leon White of Tifton and Penny and Jerry Brogdon and Judy Dale and Larry Hogan, all of Nashville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kannetha and Robert Clem, Dustin and Erica Nelms and Warren Nelms; five great-grandchildren, Skyler and Jaden Clem and Shannon, Anniston and Brynlee Nelms; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Marsha Markham of Roswell and Wayne and Christie Markham of Sycamore; and special friend, Debra Chambless Jones and her son, Brad Jones.
