Paul T. McKinley, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford. He was 78 years old.
Paul as born in Boston on April 14, 1937, a son of the late Alexander McKinley and Louise (Babcock) McKinley. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1955. Paul work in the maintenance division for the Charlestown Kennedy Center for over 20 years. He enjoyed playing and watching hockey. He was a member of the Halligan Club in Charlestown and The Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.
Paul is the beloved husband of 56 years to Catherine D. "Nippy" (Hagerty) McKinley. He is the devoted father of Paul T. McKinley Jr. and his wife Karen of New Hampshire and Brian A. McKinley of Charlestown. He is the loving Grampy to Kayla, Brian U.S.A.F. and Brady. He is the beloved brother of the late Emma O'Connor, Laura O'Connor, Nettie Larkin, Helen Zieman, Bill McKinley Bob McKinley, Archie McKinley, and John McKinley McKinley. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul's Funeral on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM. in the funeral home.
