Kai Jin Chee, who was also known as “George Toy”, 74, of Newton Highlands, who operated George’s Laundry in Newton Highlands Square for many years, died Wed June 29, 2005 at the Deutsches Altenheim in West Roxbury.
Born in Toi San, China, he immigrated to the Boston area in 1951, and had been a resident of Newton for 47 years. He operated the laundry from 1954 until 1980 and then worked as a materials handler for Teradyne in Boston for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife Pic Ken (Mah) Chee, his children Nancy Chee of San Francisco, Selectman David Chee of No. Attleboro, Linda Shaughnessy and Amy Chee both of Newton, his brother Jim Gee of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and 5 grandchildren. He was the father of the late Julie Hong and brother of the late Nee Jin Gee and Fred Gee.
A funeral service will be held on Thurs July 7 at 11 AM in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Wed from 4-8 PM.
