Obituary

Bernice M. (McKeon) Murphy, 93, of Worcester, died Tuesday, March 29th in her home, with her loving family at her side. Her husband of 45 years, James F. "Frank" Murphy died in 2000. She is survived by her son, Michael F. Murphy and his wife, Mary Lou of Worcester; two daughters, Mary E. Vrabel and her husband, Paul of Pittsfield and Anne M. Thompson and her husband, David of Worcester; her sister Mary E. Oatley of Paxton; ten grandchildren, Meghan Vrabel Moretti, Matthew Vrabel, Casey and Brian Murphy, Timothy and Kathleen Vrabel, Patrick, Dylan, Sean and Molly Thompson; and her great-grandson Ryder Moretti. Two brothers Bernard W. and Richard D. McKeon predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Bernard M. and Mildred (McDonald) McKeon. Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Classical High School and Salter Secretarial School and had worked as a secretary for the City of Worcester for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Christ the King Parish and its Woman's Guild. Bernice loved vacationing on the West Dennis Beach with her family.
Her funeral is Saturday, April 2nd from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with her funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday. April 1st from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
