Grace A. (Ajamian) LaPorte, 85, of New Bedford died Thursday May 16, 2002 at home. She was the wife of the late Leonide LaPorte.
Born in Bronx New York, the daughter of the late Matthew and Arax Christine (Shirinian) Ajamian, she lived in New Bedford since 1963.
Mrs. LaPorte was a life member of the Navy Mothers Club of America, the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and National Association for Uniformed Services. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Dartmouth Chapter. She had been a soloist in the Episcopal Church in New York for 25 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Adrienne A. LaPorte of South Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 4 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Sunday afternoon, May 19th from 1-4PM prior to the funeral service. Private Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
