Mary “Sue” Chambless Taylor Martin, 79, of Tifton passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Charles Walker officiating. Ms. Martin will be laid to rest at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 27, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jason Claunch, Dennis House Sr., Dennis House Jr., Michael House, Clint Garrett and Mikel McMillan will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 3, 1936 in Marion County, Alabama, Ms. Martin was the daughter of the late Oscar Hobart Chambless and Lona Beasley Chambless. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Henry Taylor; a son, Ricky Taylor; a granddaughter, Amanda Claunch; four brothers; and a sister. She was a homemaker and attended Tift Avenue Church of God.
Ms. Martin is survived by a son, Tony Taylor of Cleveland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Roger Claunch of Tifton and Bonnie and Ronnie Autry of Arlington, Tennessee; two brothers, George Chambless of Tifton and Carlton Chambless of Palatka, Florida; a sister, Sara Welch of Tifton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
