In Taunton, March 23, 2016 Jose H. Pereira, Age 71, passed away in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. Jose is survived by his loving wife Maria L.(Sousa) Pereira. Jose was born in Faial, Azores, the son of the late Manuel & Maria (Lacerda) Jorge. Jose immigrated to Taunton during the 1960’s. He was employed at the Frank Noone Shoe Company in Taunton and later at Eureka Manufacturing. He was a member of the Taunton Sports Club since its opening. He enjoyed fishing, watching soccer especially his two granddaughters games and being with his family. In addition to his wife, Jose leaves his son Rick Pereira and his wife Kelley of Taunton. He also leaves his two granddaughters Allison and Kayleigh Pereira of Taunton. His siblings Salome Silveira of Faial, Azores and Aldina Freitas of San Jose, CA and the late Manuel Jorge. Jose also leaves several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Tuesday, March 29th at 10 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 5-7 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
