New Bedford - Mary "Mae" Leighton, aged 82 years, died on Monday, June 27, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford, Ma. Mrs. Leighton was the sister of the late Edward and Theresa Leighton. She was the beloved aunt of Curtis and Melanie Pina.
Mrs. Leighton was the daughter of the late Edward V. and Rose (Santos) Leighton. She was formerly employed as a dietary aid at Hallmark Nursing Home, New Bedford, Ma. and she was also a former member of the “Guardian Angels”.
Mrs Leighton's funeral will begin at the funeral home on Friday, July 1, 2005 at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, on County St., New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be Thursday, June 30, 2005 from 7 - 9 P.M.. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery.
