Carmela E. "Millie" (Pepe) Marciano, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at the Winchester Nursing Center. She was 87.
Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Pocaro) Pepe. After high school, Carmela met her husband, Alfred and they were married in 1946. The couple raised their family in Medford with love and devotion. A homemaker, Millie took pride in her family. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her children and always helped them succeed. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Millie was the beloved wife of the late Alfred E. Marciano, who passed away in 2012. They shared sixty-six loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of John Marciano of Arlington, Lynne Hermosilla and her husband Julio of Haverhill. Millie was the loving grandmother of John Marciano, Jr. of Malden, Christopher Marciano and his wife Angela of Lynn, Gina Maher and her husband Eric of Epping, NH. She was the loving great grandmother of Nicholas and Andrew Marciano, both of Everett, Benjamin and Sarah Marciano, both of Lynn. Millie is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Annette Long, James Pepe and Rose Arico.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Monday, March 28th at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. At the request of the family, visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Millie's name may be sent to the charitable organization of One's choice.
