Thelma E. Murphy, 65, of Derry, NH passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 18, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 24, 1951 in Newark, DE, a daughter of Chester W. and Dorothy (Greenfield) Gingras. Thelma enjoyed hiking, camping and shopping. She was also an avid NASCAR fan. She will be remembered as being an adventurous spirit willing to conquer anything. Thelma’s great joy was the time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, Daniel Murphy and his wife Diane, Mark Murphy, and Michael Murphy, one daughter, Tammy Ludwig and her husband David, adopted daughter, Kara Stanley, 14 grandchildren, Kirstyn, Jason, Hannah, Tyler, Mackenzie, James, Sarah, Carter, Cameron, Devlin, Abagail, Laylah, Noah, and Samantha, three sisters, Francis Heath and her husband Richard, Gloria Coleman and Pamela Gagmon and her husband Shawn, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
