Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm.
Obituary
Mrs. Cerro died Tuesday peacefully at her home. Born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Nicola and Maria (DeFelice) Metta. She was a life long resident of Brockton and a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1938. After graduating she then attended Brockton Beauty Academy and operated a salon from her home. She enjoyed music, arts, playing the organ. She also loved spending many summers on the beaches of Cape Cod and time with her grandchildren.
Survived by two sons, Daniel S. Cerro, Jr. and his wife Susan of Wilmington, DE and Raymond J. Cerro and his wife Patricia of Framingham, two grandchildren, Raymond J. Jr. and Sydney Patricia Cerro, seven brothers and sisters, Marie Shumway of Brockton, William Metta of Norwood; Jenny Metta of Abington; Helen Cappiello of Brockton; Josephine Jackson of Brockton; Sabino Metta of Holiday, FL and Fontaine Metta of Brockton
She was the wife for 41 years of the late Daniel S. Cerro, Sr. and sister of the late Mike and Frank Metta.
