Barbara Anne Mich (Keany) of Quincy (formally Weymouth) passed away peacefully on March 19th at the age of 84. Loving wife of John W. Mich for 62 years. Incredible mother to Barbara (Mich) Salvucci and her husband Robert of Bethesda, MD, John Mich Jr. of Palm Springs, CA, James Mich and his wife Ellen (Wright) of Walpole, MA, Jeffrey Mich (deceased spouse Andrew Hering) of San Francisco, CA, Brenda (Mich) Smith and her husband Michael of Norwell, MA, and Joseph Mich and his wife Carolyn (Barbato) of Walpole, MA. Cherished grandmother of Tyler, John (Jake) and Nicole Mich, Dana Salvucci, Kristen and Peter Mich, and Calvin and Jane Smith. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Catherine Keany, sister Eileen (Keany) McNaughton.
Barbara was a retired office manager for a dental practice, who enjoyed traveling and being involved in various community organizations. She was a fabulous cook, famous for her cheese potatoes, whoopie pies and spaghetti sauce. Always possessing a great sense of humor and quick wit, she never shied away from letting her opinion be known. And you knew she was serious when she emphasized her point with her trademark wag of the index finger.
She was also an avid reader, and once her eyesight diminished, she relied heavily on the services of the Perkins Library for their books on tape.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 22 from 4-8 pm at the Member’s Grille Room in the Tavern at the Granite Links Golf Club, 100 Quarry Hill Drive, Quincy, MA.
