Paul J. Legasse, 85, of Tilton, NH, died Monday, June 27, 2005 in the NH Veteran's Home in Tilton. Mr. Legasse was born in Cohoes, NY on March 8, 1920, a son of the late Samuel J. and Janet G. (Foy) Legasse. He was a resident of Tilton for the past three years, formerly living in Nashua, NH for many years and Derry, NH. Mr. Legasse was employed as a machinist for Sanders Associates in Nashua for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He was a Coast Guard veteran serving during WW II. Mr. Legasse was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Nashua. He was an avid woodworker, building many fine pieces of furniture.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Legasse of Reno, NV, Paul Legasse of Camden, ME, two daughters, Janet G. Trudel of Manchester, NH, Patricia McVie of Westbury, NY, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, five nephews, many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Alfred Legasse.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 30th at 10:00am in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry, NH. Calling hours were Wednesday from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
