Obituary

Fall River – Frances Ann (Shepard) Rego, 67, of East Main Road, Little Compton, RI died Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Franklin D. Rego.

A lifelong resident of Little Compton, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Annie S. (Sylvia) Shepard. Mrs. Rego was a graduate of the Josephine F. Wilbur School, Little Compton, Class of 1956 where she was very active in her school. She was remembered in her school newspaper “Broadcast” as a “ very nice person with a quiet manner, her disposition has won her many friends.” Upon graduation she worked as a secretary at the former Truesdale Hospital in Fall River. Years later after raising her children she worked as a bus driver for the Little Compton school system for 12 years. She then worked as a cook for Ellie’s of Westport and the former Sissy’s of Westport and for the past 14 years at George’s Root Beer of Fall River. She was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. She loved animals, cooking and knitting and shopping with friends, but most of all loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

Including her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: Steven F. Rego of Little Compton and Franklin D. Rego, Jr. of Little Compton; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, July 2, 2005 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
