Obituary

NORTH STONINGTON: Alonzo Prentice Main, 90, formerly of North Stonington died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Blanche M. Main, who died in 2014.

He was born in Stonington on May 28, 1925, the son of James Fredrick and Ida Bell (Babcock) Main. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy - the Seabees - during World War II. He worked as a Pipefitter at Electric Boat, retiring in 1982. He also worked for the Ralston Purina Company as a salesperson for sixteen and a half years.

He is survived by his son, Dr. James E. Main and his wife Camille of Dallas, Texas, 2 grandchildren Jesse Ryder of Massachusetts and Clayton Main of Texas, and 3 great grandchildren Morgan Cloutier of Massachusetts and Brooks and Ryder Main of Texas.

In addition to his wife and parents, Alonzo is predeceased by his daughter Laurel L. Ryder, a granddaughter Tricia Cloutier, and sister Mary E. Davis.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Graveside Service with full military honors on Saturday, March 19, at 10:00am in Elm Grove Cemetery, Route 27 in Mystic, CT.
