Obituary

CHICOPEE – Therese A. (Branconnier) Mailloux, 80, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 14, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John. She was born in Spencer on January 13, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Ovila and Blanche (Drouin) Branconnier. She was raised in Spencer and later moved to Canada where she studied in a Convent. She taught school in Canada before settling in Chicopee where she lived for many years. She previously worked at the former F. W. Sickles Company in Chicopee and later was employed for 28 years at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley where she retired as a Custodial Supervisor. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert W. Mailloux who was Called Home on January 2, 2000. They were married on June 28, 1958 and were blessed with over 41 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving daughter and best friend, Patricia A. Peloquin and her husband, John, of Chicopee with whom she lived; her son, Robert W. Mailloux, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of New York; her three cherished grandchildren, Megan Kirouac, Robert W. Mailloux, III and Christopher Mailloux; her two cherished great-grandchildren, Nathan and Gabrielle Knowlton; her three dear brothers, Remi Branconnier and his fiancée, Claudia, of Clearwater, FL, Jean Paul Branconnier and his wife, Carol, of Spencer and Gerard Branconnier of Oxford; her dear sister, Marie Coyle and her husband, Terry, of Shrewsbury; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Mailloux and Branconnier families. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, March 18, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning, March 18, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
