FRAMINGHAM: Sanford B. "Sandy" Mills, a former Framingham resident, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at his Dorchester home. He was 45.
Raised in Sherborn, he was the son of Nancy C. (Chase) Mills and the late Ernest E. Mills. He was a 1988 graduate of Dover Sherborn High School.
Sandy had worked at Friendly's restaurant and decided after graduation that he wanted to pursue a career as a cook. Learning on the job at both Friendly's and Brigham's, he ultimately worked as a house chef at Wellesley College.
He married Rose Welch in 1994 and they settled in Framingham. Sandy and Rose were married for sixteen years, and they shared the joy of being the parents of a son, Luke, whom they both loved dearly. Sandy had many interests, and he shared with his family his love of music. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. Sandy was a generous and caring person.
He is survived by his son, Lucas T. Mills of Framingham; his mother, Nancy Mills of Natick; and his brother, Daryl L. Mills of Millis. He was predeceased by his sister Marlys Rich in 2014.
Relatives and friends may visit with the Mills family at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Saturday, March 19th, 2-4pm. Burial will be private.
