Arthur S. Massie, Jr., 77, of Tiverton, passed away on Sunday, March, 13, 2016 at home. He was the husband of Gloria G. (Anderson) Massie.
Mr. Massie was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Arthur S., Sr. and Ida (Stevens) Massie. He grew up in Fall River before moving to Tiverton in 1977. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for the original Alert Ambulance of Fairhaven. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Massie was an avid motorcycle rider and built his own motorcycle and trike. He loved working with his hands and was always trying to figure things out. He enjoyed flying radio controlled planes and was an avid camper. He loved his pet dog Trixie, had a great sense of humor and could always make people laugh.
Survivors along with his wife include his 2 daughters: Laura Austin and her husband Will of CA and Caryn Kuresa and her husband Steven of CA; his brother: Roy Massie of Westport; 7 grandchildren; along with 1 niece.
A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
