Obituary

CARRABBA- Of Revere, June 26th, Lieut. Anthony, Jr., Chelsea Fire Dept., retired. Devoted husband of Carolyn (Cooley). Loving son of Anna (O'Neil) Carrabba of Chelsea. Father of Kevin A. Carrabba and his wife Simone of Florida and step-father of James Dana Cook of New Jersey. Dear brother of Lucy Bragg of Bellingham, Ann Belanger of Haverhill and Michael Carrabba of Brighton. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Thursday morning, June 30th at 11 AM followed by a Graveside Service in Woodlawn Cemetery at 12 Noon. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-9 PM. Expressions of sympathy in Tony's name may be made to the Chelsea Firefighters Relief Association, 307 Chestnut Street, Chelsea, MA 02150. Late United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Born in Revere, Anthony passed away early Sunday afternoon, after a 6 month battle with cancer at the Transitional Care Unit of the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett a few hours after being admitted.

Amember of the Chelsea Fire Department, Anthony was appointed to reserve in 1967, a permanent firefighter on January 22, 1968 and retired from the Dept. holding the rank of Lieut. on December 17, 1994. He was a member of Chelsea Firefighters Local # 937 and the Chelsea Firefighters Relief Association.
