Obituary

Maureen T. Maganzini, of Kingston and a former longtime resident of Medford, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 7, 2016, at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Walter A. Maganzini and together they shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Somerville she was one of four daughters of the late Salvatore and Mary (Simmons) Charido.

Maureen was raised in Medford and was a 1966 graduate of Somerville High School. Mostly devoted to her family she cherished her role as a loving wife, mother and proud grandparent. Maureen was always active in every aspect of her children's lives. She was a hockey mom to sons and a stage mom to her daughters. She volunteered for many years with the Medford Youth Hockey Association and was very active at St. Joseph Parish over the years. Maureen loved people and they loved her. She truly loved staying active and being involved in many different community events. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the Beatles and Elvis, attending parties and family events and just socializing with family and friends. Maureen also enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod, trips to Las Vegas and going to Broadway shows with friends and family.

In addition to her beloved husband Walter, Maureen is survived by her children; Walter V. Maganzini of Hingham, Cindy Maganzini - Femino and her husband Daniel of Harvard, Candice Maganzini Long and her husband James of Marlboro, Brad Maganzini of Kingston, David Maganzini and his wife Joanna of Watertown, and Adam Maganzini of Kingston. She was the loving grandmother of Drew and Ryan Femino, Lilliana and Rosalia Maganzini, Teddy and Fiona Long. Sister of Marilyn Gwinn and her husband Lawson of Sarasota, FL, Marjorie Charido of North Reading, and Mary Murgia of North Reading. Cherished aunt of Robert Murgia M.D., Courtney Murgia Esq., Caitlin Murgia, Meredith Gwinn and Lauren Gwinn.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday, March 12th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 thru 8 p.m. and Friday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Maureen's memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851
