Clementia (Scopa) Simone, age 82, died, peacefully, on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Heritage at Vernon Court, an assisted living facility, in Newton. She was born in Medford on February 4, 1920 to the late John B. and Mary (Cobitose) Scopa. She was a lifelong resident of Medford and a communicant of St. Raphaels Church. She was employed by the Medford Public Schools as a teacher for over 35 years. She was very active in her teaching position, once honored as "Teacher of the Year". Clementia was the beloved wife of the late Almante Simone. She is the cherished sister of Francis J. Scopa of Florida, formerly of Arlington and the late John Scopa. She also leaves three nephews, one niece, three grand nieces and three grand nephews. Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the St. Raphaels Church, 514 High Street, Medford, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
