Alice T. (Filochowska) Wilbur, 89, of Dartmouth died Saturday June 25, 2005 at Sunrise Assisted Living after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Lyman D. Wilbur.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Alexandria (Pietrowsky) Filochowska, she lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Dartmouth 35 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, where she was a member of the Choir and the Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Wilbur was a member of the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years. She was a member of the Garden Club of Greater New Bedford. She was a recipient of the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Hoffman and her husband Joel of Bolton, Connecticut, and Diane Brodeur and her husband Steven of Fairhaven; a son, Lyman D. Wilbur, Jr. of Westport; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday June 29, 2005 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday June 28, 2005 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
