Bertrand A. Maclure 86, of Woonsocket peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was the beloved husband for sixty two years of Constance T. (Allard) Maclure. Born in Woonsocket, Bertrand was the son of the late Arthur and Aurore (Cardinal) Maclure.
Bertrand was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he earned a Bronze Star. Before retiring in 1988, he was a crane operator for the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale for over twenty five years, and later was employed by Miller Electric.
Bertrand was a member of the Leclair, Kozlik, Logan, Basset VFW #6342 of Forestdale. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
In addition to his devoted wife, Bertrand was the cherished father of three daughters; Charlene B. Dwyer and her husband James of Woonsocket, Linda G. Laliberte and her husband Raymond of Woonsocket, and Cathy A. Terrall and her husband John of Gales Ferry, CT. He has left a legacy of love and devotion to his eight grandchildren; David, Stacey, Brenton, Jade, Erica, Ryan, Dustin, and Courtney, and one great-granddaughter, Amelia. He was the brother of three sisters; Constance Goulet, Gabrielle Chartier, and Henrietta Patrie all of Woonsocket. He was also the brother of the late Gerald Maclure, Muriel Roy, Therese Artruc, Gilberte Allard, and Yolande Kircorian.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 9, at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, 323 Rathbun St, Woonsocket. Military Honors will follow immediately after Mass on the church grounds. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday 5-7 PM in the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904-9826.
