Obituary

WESTON: Robert Allen “Bob” Mosher, Sr. died peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Born and raised in Weston, he graduated from Weston High School in 1952, from Brown University with a BSEE in 1956 and from Northeastern University with an MBA in 1961.
Bob was born on May 2, 1934 the son of the late Harold Allen Mosher and the late Hildur I. Mosher. Bob was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Berks) Mosher the love of his life for 52 years.

Mr. Mosher was employed by Polaroid Corporation for 35 years, having retired in 1995 as a Principal Engineer. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland since 1966 and served as its President from 1979 – 1980 At Rotary, Bob organized volunteers to serve dinner every month at the Bristol Lodge Food Pantry and with his wife, personally cooked the meals for 75 people every month for 20 years. For his dedicated service to the Rotary club and his community, he received recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow.

Bob was chairman of the Committee on Safety and Flow of Pedestrian and Vehicular Traffic for many years and became the Chairman of the Traffic and Sidewalk Advisory Committee in 2003. In his retirement, he was active with the Weston Senior Citizen’s Club, serving as its President for several years, was a volunteer for the Weston Council on Aging and was a driver and a caller for Friends In Service Helping (FISH).

Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston, where he was Chairman of the Property Committee and where he sang in the church choir. Bob loved to sing and in 2004 he joined Golden Tones chorus and the Golden Nuggets singing groups. He also served as Vice President of the Golden Tones.

Bob enjoyed gardening, golf and spending time with family and friends, especially at his vacation home on Cape Cod. He enjoyed his children, coaching them in Little League and attending nearly all of their school events when they were young. As they grew older he loved helping them with yard work and painting and traveling to see his daughter in California. He also enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife and friends, especially a trip to see the Canadian Rockies by rail. He was always available to help others out and enjoyed every minute of the time spent with all of his children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Bob leaves one daughter, Karen Lea and her husband Brian Haack of Long Beach, CA; three sons, Robert Allen Mosher Jr. and his wife Denise of Weston; Stephen Harold Mosher and his wife Christine of Fitchburg; Douglas Berks Mosher and his wife Heidi of Westborough, and ten grandchildren, Acacia Lea, Allyson Lynne, and Alyssa Noel Haack; Jessica Molly, Amanda Margaret and Robert Allen Mosher III; Katelyn Eva and Cody Allen Mosher; Adam Robert and Timothy Harold Mosher.

Visitations will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.

A Memorial service celebration of Bob Mosher’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at First Parish in Weston, 349 Boston Post Road, Weston Center with the Reverend Thomas Wintle officiating. Burial in the Linwood Cemetery in Weston will be private.
