HAVERHILL: Thelma L. (McIntosh) Post, 95, died Monday, February 29, 2016 in the Merrimack Valley Hospice House following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Morton A. Post who died in 1980.
Born in West Newbury on August 15, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Jessie E. (Rogers) McIntosh. She had resided in Haverhill most of her life and was a graduate of Haverhill public schools.
Thelma was employed as a telephone operator at the former L.H. Hamel Leather Company in Haverhill for many years before her retirement in 1973. She had also once worked at the former Mitchell & Company for several years. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Haverhill for over sixty years.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria A. Post of Coon Rapids, MN; two sons, Raymond S. Post of Santee, CA and Charles W. Post of Barrington, NH; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Ricky Post.
Her funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
