Dorothy M. Meyers, 87, of Hampstead, NH, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Billerica, MA on January 15, 1929, a daughter of the late James and Gertrude (LeLacheur) O'Brien, and had been a resident of Hampstead for the past 51 years, formerly living in Billerica, MA. Dottie worked as a bookkeeper for Duston Oil Co. for 23 years. She was a Campfire Girl Leader, and assistant to the town treasurer, and participated in many community activities. She loved gardening and tending the farm stand with her husband Bob.
She is survived by her beloved husband Robert G. Meyers, Sr. of Hampstead; a son, Robert Meyers, Jr.; two daughters, Joan M. Meyers and Elaine M. Luke and her husband David; grandchildren Rob Meyers and his wife Margie, Brett Meyers and his wife Lisa; great grandchildren Trevor, Tyler, and Harper Meyers; two brothers Edward O'Brien and Daniel O'Brien; and two sisters, Pauline Cushing and Katherine Connors. Dorothy is predeceased by two sisters, Rita Burgess and Faith Collinge.
Memorial calling hours were held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A memorial service was held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to www.musicandmemory.org.
