Josephine A. (Sarto) Paquin, age 91, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Paquin who died on December 4, 1998.
Born in Boston, MA on March 13, 1924, she was a loving daughter of the late George and Ann (Merlina) Sarto. She grew up and was educated in Boston.
JoAnne was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and had also worked in the bakery department at the former Fernandes Supermarket in Mansfield.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 45 years, Mrs. Paquin was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and treasured the times spent amongst her family and grandchildren.
JoAnne was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts. When younger, she, along with her late husband Bob loved traveling, camping and the outdoors. At the time of her death, she was anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Christopher J. Paquin and his wife Monica of Mansfield and the late Robert M. Paquin and his late wife Patricia Ann Paquin. She was the cherished grandmother of John Paquin, Daniel Paquin, Danielle Paquin and Nicholas Paquin all of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Joseph Sarto and his wife Ann of Dedham, Anna Citro of Quincy and was predeceased by several siblings. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3rd at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield
In lieu of flowers, JoAnne’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
