Anna A. (McLaughlin) Myles, a lifelong Charlestown resident, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Spaulding Nursing and Therapy Center in the North End. She was 87 years old.
Anna was born in Boston on March 27, 1928, a daughter of the late John McLaughlin and Annie (Lafferty) McLaughlin. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Girls High School in Boston. Following high school, Anna worked at the Schraffts Candy Company for several years as a fancy packer, and also for Gillette as a member of the assembly line.
Anna is the beloved wife of the late George T. Myles. She is the devoted mother of Janet Silva and her husband Lenny of Charlestown, and the late Paul T. Myles. She is the loving Nana to Jared Silva. She is the beloved sister of Rose Bartolo of Charlestown, Mary Heffernan of Revere, and the late John McLaughlin, and Hugh McLaughlin. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Anna's Funeral on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
