MARTIN, Janet Morahan of Wellesley, age 72, of ovarian cancer, February 25, 2016. Beloved wife of Curtis Martin for 37 years, and devoted mother of Gwen Martin.
In addition to her husband and daughter, Janet is survived by her sister, Patricia Morahan; brother, Brian; nieces Zayne , Westin and Nika Sibley, Elisabeth and Catharine Edwards of London and nephew Gareth Edwards.
Janet was born in NYC and raised there and in Greenwich, Connecticut. She graduated from Rosemont College and worked in advertising before returning to graduate school at Tufts University, where she received a master’s degree in special education under a NIMH fellowship. She then earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Boston College. She was a Professor of Psychology at Bryant University where she taught over 40 years and served as chair of the Applied Psychology Department. She loved spending time with her family, especially on Cape Cod and in Maine, and was an avid gardener and photographer who in recent years had locally exhibited her work.
