Obituary

WORCESTER-Bridget F. “Bridie” Fleming of 35 Knowles Road, died Thursday, May 16th in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Memorial Campus. She leaves her husband John J. Fleming, Sr., a son John J. Fleming, Jr. of Worcester and her daughter Ellen T. Fleming of Arlington, many nephews and nieces. 2 brothers Denis and Patrick Lyne and 4 sisters Catherine Mansfield, Nora Lyne, Mary O’Sullivan and Ellen O'Mahony pre-deceased her.

She was born in Beaufort, Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland, the daughter of Thomas and Ellen (Shea) Lyne, and moved to Worcester from Ireland in 1949. Mrs. Fleming had worked as a domestic, retiring in 1993. She previously had been employed by Table Talk Pie Company, Worcester Envelope and Brown Shoe. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, and had served as a past board member of it’s former Woman’s Guild and was an active volunteer there. Mrs. Fleming enjoyed gardening and Irish cultural activities.

The funeral will be Monday, May 20th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, May 19th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
