Lang, Christine, R.N. of Derry, New Hampshire, formerly of Mattapan passed away Feb. 22, 2016 in Manchester, NH after a brief period of failing health. Christine was born in Mattapan, MA to Johannes & Christen Lang. She was predeceased by sisters, Jean Lang & Anna McCarthy & brothers, Hank & Frank Lang and was the loving & giving Aunt to Jackie, James & David McCarthy, Frankie, Bobby, Peggy & Kathy Lang and Tina Killeen and her late husband Jim Killeen. She was the Great Aunt of many great nieces & nephews. Christine graduated from New England Baptist School of Nursing, received her BSN degree from Boston University and her M.S. from Univ. of Pennsylvania. She honorably served in the United States Air Force during Korean War and eventually retired from her position as Supervisor of the Neurology Service at Boston VA Hospital. A fixture in her neighborhoods on River St., Mattapan & in Derry, NH where she was well known by the youngsters lending support to many of them. She knew all the Derry neighborhood kids by name. Compared to “Auntie Mame” for her fun outlook on life, she continued her selfless & exuberant life style with her great nephews, James & Jonathan Killeen. Christine was always direct, told it like it was but, was the most supportive & generous person in the world. She was one of a kind, someone to be cherished, and will be dearly missed by her family.
